little girl gets tiger woods photo autographed on the golf course

I thought this was a great story so had to write about it, its from the belfast telegraph in northern ireland, its the story of a little 6 year old girl who broke protocol to get her heros autogrpah and photo signed by the double crossing cheat, tiger woods lol

A six year old schoolgirl broke through the crazy over handed heavyweight security around the golfing legend that is Tiger Woods to get her golfing hero's photogrpah signed and endorsed by giving his autograph during one of his public outings whilst he was over there....

Thousands of fans who hasd made the trip to get a view of the legend, kept at a distance from the golf star, but they cheered and roared on little Ava Mulhall, from Innishannon, County Cork, after she ducked under the feeble fencing and ran onto a golf course fairway after the legendary golfing superstar.

Woods was playing at Limerick's exclusive Adare Manor course and was on the 8th hole i believ as part of a celebrity ProAm organised by one of Ireland's biggest tycoons, JP McManus who was once invoolved in the ownership of manchester united.
little Ava, who has been playing golf for over a year, already had her card signed by 19 other big-name players happy to give fans autographs - including Jose Maria Olazabal, John Daly and Fred Funk
But the elusive World No 1 had remained out of reach from everyone including this delightful little girl who just wanted an autograph.

In a daring move that drew delighted cheers from spectators, Ava darted onto the fairway and even dodged a steward who tried to block her, to get to the heavily-protected Woods.

what a great story!!!

Should A Reporter Get A Sports Stars Autograph On A Photo ?

I was reading a really interesting article regarding this subject of professionalism and etiquitte when it comes to boudaries regarding whether or not it was ethical for a reporter to be getting a photo autographed by a sports star. you can read more about this autograph photo story here
as i thought it was an interesting topic to discuss and perhaps elaborate on as the general boundaries ar eone that should be maintained as it can really annoy the patient fans who wait for their favourite sports star to sign a photo or simply autograph a piece of paper or a programme and not even a photo.

I think the ppoint of the story is that as a reporter you are supposed to be objective and impartial to a degree so the appearance that you maybe starstruck is perhaps a game you should not be giving away. now hey if its for your kids then i say go for it, but i reckon that if the sports star is just that - namely a star then my guess is that the autograph is for himself and not for one of his kids.

i mean imagine if the same thing was occuring for a politician, then that would be like putting your head on the block as to the viewing audience you would be nailing your colours to the mast, and like shouting hey i am a conservative, so how is it any different for a sports star?

simple, it isnt.
